Mothers, toddlers and trunks….

James was 2 years old and autistic.   His body was recovered Friday in the trunk of his mother’s car.  She apparently had been driving around with him in the trunk for months. (She told the police that he died accidentally on May 29th)  Summer Manywhitehorses had told many different stories about where James was.  She was arrested for a driving offense and her car was impounded.  James’ 11 year old sister was in the backseat.  She was placed in foster care and CPS began to try to track down James.  The mother finally told the police that they would find James wrapped in a blanket, in a garbage bag in the trunk of her car at the impound lot.

There is so much about this story that is tragic and in so many ways there are parallels with Caylee Anthony.  I tried to find any news story that featured a photo of James and could not find one.  At one time there was a bulletin asking for the publics help in finding him but there was no picture.  James was poor, Native American and autistic.  His disappearance created no media stir…his death is barely a blip on the radar.

  Caylee Anthony is 2 years old and she is missing.  She was last seen by someone other than her mother June 9th.  Her mother; Casey Anthony,  says that she dropped her off at a babysitters and never saw her again.  She was missing 5 weeks before her mother reported her missing and told police officers that she was “conducting her own investigation”.  The apartment she said she dropped Caylee off at has been vacant since February.   All reports mention that the mother is extremely unemotional about her daughter being missing and has offered several different stories about her whereabouts.  She has been arrested for child neglect and providing false information. Caylee is 3 feet tall, loves her teddy bear and hosts tea parties with her stuffed pig.  

This is the kind of story that makes you wonder what exactly is wrong with people.  I can’t imagine how horrible Caylee’s grandmother and grandfather feel not knowing where Caylee is and if she is alive.  She has been missing almost 6 weeks now and whenever children disappear time is so important.  Where is Caylee and what will make her mother Casey finally tell the truth about what happened to her.  If you have any information at all about Caylee please call Childfind at 1-800-THE-LOST or the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 1-407-836-HELP (4357)

His name is Jevias and he’s 18 months old

Jevias was brought to the emergency room by a woman claiming that a gang member dropped him off at her house.  She “took care” of him for two days before deciding that he needed medical attention.  His injuries were so severe he was listed in serious condition with multiple injuries and cigarette burns on his feet.  She couldn’t pick him up without him saying “owie, owie, owie”.  Tacoma WA police department released some information trying to track down the childs mother.  It turns out she is a prostitute and the person charged with assaulting Jevias is her pimp.  Jevias is currently in foster care.  Police are trying to determine whether to charge the mother and the woman who brought him to the hospital with Obstruction. I don’t know if the news will have any more to say about Jevias and what happened to him.  Probably not; as he already has several things going against him, he’s a child, he’s poor and his mom is a prostitute.  I’m sure that there is so much to this story that isn’t being said and more than likely Jevias isn’t the only victim in the situation.
